Mr. Chilcote joined DEI in 2019 after several years of field service experience during refueling outages at commercial nuclear power plants, including extensive experience in decontamination and radiation protection activities. During his time at DEI, he has focused on on-site delivery of value-adding DEI services during refueling outages. This has included operation and maintenance of DEI’s patented AMFM regenerable filtration systems during filtration and vacuuming activities in the spent fuel pool and reactor cavity. Deployment of these systems has typically saved utilities several hundred thousand USD annually, compared to generation and disposal of traditional plastic filters.
Mr. Chilcote has extensive radworker experience. Prior to joining DEI, he served as a lead decontamination technician for BHI at a number of US nuclear plants, where his responsibilities included: cavity decontamination, decontamination of polar crane, tools and instrumentation, changing of plastic filters, installation of shielding, setup and monitoring of area radiation monitors and air samplers, installation of telecommunications and inspection cameras, material preparation for rad shipping, establishing and maintaining foreign material exclusion boundaries, and foreign material retrieval.
Mr. Chilcote also has strong mechanical proficiency. He previously worked as a heavy truck transmission technician at Valley Truck, where he repaired and replaced transmissions, differentials, hubs, drive shafts, axles, brakes and hydraulic/air systems. He also worked at Polaris West in Katy, TX where he assembled, accessorized and repaired motorcycles and ATVs, and gained experience in sales and inventory management.
