EXPERTISE

  • Mechanical equipment design, assembly and qualification
  • Nuclear field services
  • Software verification and validation (V&V) testing

Since joining DEI in 2015, Mr. Clement has focused on the design, assembly, and testing of nuclear field service equipment, including cleaning devices and spent fuel pool filtration systems. Notably, this has included the preparation, check, and review of models and drawings using SolidWorks, as well as verification that these designs are structurally sound. Mr. Clement has designed and procured parts for DEI’s patented High Efficiency Ultrasonic Fuel Cleaning (HE-UFC) equipment, led testing efforts to verify the design and functionality of DEI’s patented AMFM regenerable filtration systems, and prepared structural calculations for rigging equipment used to support the installation and operation of DEI field service equipment at nuclear power plants.

In addition to his work in mechanical equipment design and assembly and field services, Mr. Clement developed procedures for and performed testing for custom analysis software, including eXtremely Low Probability of Rupture (xLPR) software for EPRI and the US NRC. He has also assisted with audits of DEI’s nuclear quality assurance program under 10CFR50 and NQA-1-2000.

Mr. Clement holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland.
