Mr. Krull is an expert in the development and application of chemical cleaning and decontamination process to nuclear plant components and systems. He was the lead engineer responsible for qualification and development of DEI’s LT-ZiP process, including site application of this process application with chemical decontamination and ultrasonic fuel cleaning. When applied in concert, ultrasonic fuel cleaning and LT-ZiP serve to mitigation piping recontamination after chemical decontamination by substantially reducing the mobile source term and by preventing the uptake of activated corrosion products on piping surfaces during subsequent operation.
Mr. Krull has also developed specialty electrochemical processes for nuclear and non-nuclear waste treatment and manufacturing of specialty decontamination chemicals. He has participated in numerous R&D programs and consulting projects in the areas of decontamination and decommissioning of nuclear power plants, primary and secondary water chemistry for operating nuclear plants and new plant designs, and economic modeling for new nuclear plant designs. Mr. Krull has also supported EPRI/SGOG and ASCA steam generator chemical cleaning applications at numerous units in North America, Europe and Asia. His roles during these projects have included process qualification and design prior to field application, training of personnel for on-site execution, and on-site technical support as a chemical process lead and subject matter expert.
He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University.
